Faults We Repair

We repair laptop, MacBook and PC motherboards at component level, finding the exact faulty chip, capacitor or circuit.

  • No power or completely dead laptop
  • No display or black screen
  • Short circuits and burnt components
  • Liquid damage and corrosion
  • Failed CPU or GPU chips (BGA replacement and reballing)
  • RAM not detected, including soldered RAM faults
  • Charging and USB-C power faults
  • BIOS corruption and boot loops
  • Overheating and random shutdowns

Brands we work on: Apple MacBook and iMac logic boards, ASUS and ROG gaming laptops, Dell, HP, Lenovo, Acer, MSI, Razer, custom-built PCs and any other brand.

Repair, Not Replace

Replacement boards are expensive, often hard to find, and frequently used parts. We repair the faulty component instead, so your original board stays in the laptop and the repair usually costs far less than a new board.

No Fix, No Fee

Motherboard repairs start from £120. Every device gets a free evaluation and an exact price before any work begins. If we can’t repair your device, you don’t pay for the repair.

How It Works

  1. Send or bring your device. Post it from anywhere in the UK using a tracked, signed-for service, book free collection within 5 miles, or drop it off by appointment.
  2. Free evaluation. We find the fault and give you an exact repair price before any work starts.
  3. Component-level repair. We repair the board using a BGA rework station, microscopes, oscilloscopes and precision soldering equipment.
  4. Testing and return. Every repair is tested before return, sent back insured and tracked, and covered by our warranty on parts and labour.

Only need a detailed written report of the faults, without a repair? Our diagnostics service costs £60.

Recent Repair: ASUS ROG Strix

This laptop stopped detecting its 32GB DDR5 memory after an internal clean at another shop, and a second shop couldn’t find the fault. We found liquid metal had escaped from the CPU and dissolved four solder balls underneath it. We removed the CPU, cleaned the chip and board, reballed and refitted the CPU, and applied fresh thermal material. The laptop now detects its full memory again.

Trade Repairs for Repair Shops
